These Smart Cameras are only 80 x 40 x 20 mm small. Despite this small form factor they integrate computational power of up to 5600 MIPS and resolution of up to 5 megapixels. Like every intelligent VC Smart Camera the VC nanos also feature all necessary interfacing capabilities needed for a complete Machine Vision System.
A live video transfer can be done via the 100 MBit Ethernet interface that is also freely pro- grammable and can be used as open commu- nication interface.
Some models provide a special hardware: A remote sensor head makes these models even more flexible to be integrated in applications with extreme space conditions. This miniatu- rized Smart Camera head is only 22 x 22 x 19,5 mm small.
All nano models are furthermore available with IP 68 protective housing!

By developing these cameras, the aim was reducing it to essential components and still obtain the enormous performance. The VC Base models are primarily for use in production facilities, that don't require additionally visual monitoring. 
  • All models are available as color cameras.

  • Processor: 3,200 MIPS, 400 MHz.
  • Up to 64 MB SDRAM image/data memory. 
  • Image display via 100 Mbit Ethernet to PC.
  • Interfaces: RS232 and 100 Mbit Ethernet.
  • Housing dimensions start with 80 x 45 x 20 mm, approx. 90 g.

The BASE+ series' embedded systems expand the Base models range and bring more power thanks to a 700 MHz TI-DSPs as well as a bigger selection of sensors. 
From the outside, there is almost no difference between Base and BASE+ models, they share the same form factor. 
In this series of machine vision systems, we use the latest CMOS sensors of notable sensor manufacturers like for example Aptina, e2v and CMOSIS.

Compared with the features of the Base models, the Professional Smart Cameras are equipped with extended capabilities to cope with all tasks quickly and reliably. These models are able to reach higher frame rates at equal resolution thanks to optimized electronics.

To suit all requirements users have a huge variety of different resolutions at their disposal. If live image display is required, the direct VGA output can be easily connected to any monitor.

These camera models include a high-precision encoder interface with internal counter, making it possible to directly connect the encoder without external components. This feature is particularly useful for high speed applications. For diagnostics, the VC Professional Smart Cameras are equipped with real time clock and temperature sensor which can be accessed remotely.

VC Professional Smart Cameras are amongst others the better choice for barcode or DMC decoding and object recognition.

Thanks to their powerful processor, the Smart Cameras of VC Optimum series belong to the fastest cameras in the world.  They are therefore optimally suited for complex and time-critical inspection processes particularly with challenging surface, OCR reading and every kind of high-speed applications.
In comparison to VC Professional series, these Smart Cameras come with a larger SD card, a higher memory capacity and a considerably increased computational power. In this series, the 1 GHz processor sets standards with its 8,000 MIPS.
The VCRT operating system guarantees to max out the Optimum Smart Cameras' full potential: image capture and image processing are simultaneous. Thus, process times are reduced to a minimum. Of course, this standard function is included in all VC Smart Cameras, but with the Optimum series the resulting high-speed is enormous, e.g. the VC4458 is capable of 242 full frame images per second. This means, with the binning mode almost 500 images per second are processed. This high-end product is already used worldwide for motion analysis. The VC4465/C, a color Smart Camera with an impressive color fidelity, completes the series range.
