What is an Eyespector

The EyeSpector Smart Camera-series is the product of a collaboration between the hardware manufacturers Vision Components (Ettlingen), and the software company EVT (Karlsruhe).
From the outside the complex inner of the camera is not to be seen. It looks like an ordinary camera with a C-mount connector.
At the backside there are multiple interface connectors available. To interface the camera to the real world there are different connections possible like Ethernet, RS232 or PLC I/O.
Additional there are connectors for an incremental input, as well as a trigger input and a VGA output to display the image data.
The heart of the camera is a modern signal processor with a calculation power of up to 8000 MIPS that equals to the actual PC technology.
The available resolutions of the cameras are between 640 x 480 Pixel and 1600 x 1200 Pixel in grey an color with frame rates between 30 and 250 Hz.
The opteration system is a LINUX like real time operating system - which supports the EyeSpector Software. With this it is possible to save multiple programms and images as well as statistic an process data. The internal flash drive, based on an standard SD-card is also controlled by the OS.
To improve the speed of the image processing specialized hardware support is build in.

Eyespector Instruction set
| The table shows a selection of functions. The respective function buttons are collected using drag & drop and positioned in the programming window during set-up/programming. This enables quick and fast program generation. The hardware package incl. all electrical connections is identical in the basic and advanced version. Programs generated in the basic version can also be loaded into the advanced version at a later date. | | |||
