Master-Mode for USB-Cameras
Trigger faster with driver 3.82
With the latest driver version 3.82 all uEye cameras benefit from a new and improved trigger mode. The “continuous trigger” mode offers several advantages: First, it improves the stability of triggered image acquisition. Second, it allows especially USB cameras to be triggered much faster than before. In addition, the continuous trigger mode is easier to implement in the software.

The Continuous Trigger Mode improves the stability and allows especially USB cameras to be triggered much faster.
The improved trigger mode is made possible by a new data transfer mode developed by IDS: The USB master mode significantly enhances the reliability of data transfer as well as the performance of USB 2.0. Usually, USB devices are operated in a slave-mode: Data packets can only be sent when requested by the PC. Consequently, in slave mode a USB camera had to be prepared by the PC before every triggered image acquisition.
The master mode for IDS cameras overcomes this limitation by enabling also models with USB interface to independently send image data to the PC. For externally triggered image capture, the master mode facilitates optimal use of USB 2.0 bus bandwidth and very high frame rates. In the Area-of-Interest (AOI) mode, for example, USB cameras now can process several hundred trigger pulses per second.
After the driver update the new mode is available for all uEye cameras – even for already installed cameras. Furthermore, the software package contains new API function calls and programming examples with source code as well as additional subsampling/binning modes and further enhancements for all USB and GigE uEye models.
