FireDragon FireWire cameras
Among the machine vision industry’s first to utilize FireWire-B (IEEE-1394.b) technology, the FireDragon™ cameras are optimized for OEM solutions in robotic vision, electronics inspection, semiconductors or microscopy, as well as excellent replacements for analog cameras. Offered in eight unique models, FireDragon Series cameras leverage the highly efficient architecture of FireWire-B. GiantDragon GigE cameras
The Toshiba-Teli GiantDragon series of high-speed cameras are available in 9 models, with monochrome and colour progressive scan CCDs and resolutions ranging from 640 x 480 pixels to 1600 x 1200 pixels. The cameras are available in compact, RoHS compliant bodies measuring 44 x 29 x 70mm. The GiantDragon cameras transmit complete images or selectable image regions in compressed 24-bit RGB, 16-bit YUV 4:2:2, 12 bit YUV 4:1:1 or at maximum quality in uncompressed raw 8- or 10-bit file format. The models support transmissions following the GigE Vision/GenICam interface standard for control and configuration. Network cables with lengths of up to 100m (Cat5e or Cat6) can be used for data transmissions via a standard Gigabit Ethernet interface. The key features of all GiantDragon cameras are:

CleverDragon Camera Link cameras
The CleverDragon line of industrial-grade cameras feature Power over Camera Link (PoCL) technology to allow transfer of image data, power, and control signals on a single cable. Equipped with a full-frame shutter that allows all-pixel reading even during random trigger shutter operations, the cameras read data three times faster than conventional CCD cameras, while providing vertical resolution without degradation. In addition to full-frame reading, CleverDragon cameras can increase speed in partial scan mode because areas outside the image output range specified by the user are not read. All versions of the CleverDragon have random trigger shutter, enabling them to capture fast-moving objects in place. CleverDragon cameras have an ultra-compact form factor (29mm x 29mm x 26.5mm) to help integrators achieve important space savings. SmartDragon iLS-BF4
Toshiba Teli has introduced the SmartDragon image processor, which can connect and simultaneously receive data from up to four FireWire-B (IEEE1394.b) colour or black and white cameras.
Taking advantage of FireWire-B's 800Mb/s speed, the compact and simple-to-integrate SmartDragon features 16 insulated digital input and output terminals suitable for automated inspection needs in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, packaging, and semiconductor markets as well as factory automation. An external trigger input is used to input signals at the desired timing with variations in delay times and pulse widths, and then output from the unit's external trigger output. In addition, there are inputs for Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45), USB devices, RS-232C, and connections for a PC display, mouse and keyboard.
SmartDragon does not rely upon a hard drive for data storage, but instead uses industrial-grade CF cards of up to 4Gb in size to achieve greater reliability in industrial environments.
The SmartDragon is equipped with an Intel Pentium M 1.4GHz processor. Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 is embedded as its operating system, along with software including NET Framework 2.0 and Toshiba Teli's TeliDCAM with PC-Tri32 to support all Toshiba Teli FireDragon™ Cameras.
